But they will go up less than the minimum wage increase, higher salary groups will likely demand a rise as well, but far less percentage wise, they'll still get a good wedge more money - it's been explained earlier. That's the idea of minimum wage: those on the bottom will have a net increase of purchasing power.

In case of Thailand, the proposed wage rise is far to high to be sustainable and would have an adverse effect.

Agreed when it’s a 5%-10% rise. Not when it’s almost 50%. That’s just taking the principle too far.
