It seems it’s all turned into a bit of a shambles. Only a week after the government’s national vaccine rollout kicked off to great pomp and ceremony at Bangkok’s Bang Sue Grand Station, it has already run into problems. The Bangkok Post reports that both public and private hospitals are postponing appointments, saying they haven’t been given enough vaccines. The response from the government has been to deflect and finger point, with the Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul blaming the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and the BMA blaming the Health Ministry. Thailand . . . a developing nation*?  Developing in reverse, currently, with each week presenting a further backwards step.

Why does the Land of Smiles find it so difficult - impossible even, for the past half-century - to emplace people in government who are able and willing to work together as a team? For decades now, the primary problem has been Thai politicians' inability to work as a harmonious team, with the press repeatedly being limited to reporting one dispute or another, rather than being able to celebrate reporting on some positive achievement by the powers-that-be.

Why is this? . . . Anyone?
