News Forum - Shooter in Pattaya turned himself in after shooting at man in car
The headline says shooting at a man in a car but the charge is criminal mischief. Is attempted murder covered under the charge of criminal mischief? No. -

News Forum - Unvaccinated tourist turned away at check-in desk en route to Thailand
I made a trip to an Isaan Makro today. The usual paraphernalia was present but only about 50% of people entering made any attempt to use the gel, pause at the scanner ( which I did note was as you said moved to less prominent position). 100% of people were wearing a mask. I did make use of the gel which I have routinely liberally applied to the shopping cart handle. I take the view that even if covid is not present then it will possibly reduce the numerous other greeblies that may be lurking. I did notice that the various staff outside were also not spraying and wiping the cart handles anymore either. If the mask is effective in maintaining an awareness as opposed to a denial of community risk then let it continue as a social habit. It was a feature of many Asian countries prior to Covid as a perceived form of protection anyway. If Airlines are being pendantic as to conditrions of boarding then it need be recognized they have that right so long as they have made it very clear in the conditions of accepting a booking from an aspirant traveler . -

Ukraine/Russian Conflict - General Discussion
He might have been referring to the recent calls to used seized Russian assets to rebuild Ukraine.Swiss president, Ignazio Cassis said No. ”The right of ownership, the right of property is a fundamental right, a human right,” he said in Lugano, adding that such rights could be violated, as they had during the pandemic, but only so long as there was a legal basis.” https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/jul/05/switzerland-resists-ukrainian-plan-to-seize-frozen-russian-assets imo, seizing Russian govt stuff is OK. However I have always thought that asset seizures from individuals was a flawed idea and the beginning of a very slippery slope. It was an easy sell at the start of the war to target Putin’s pals however when do the asset seizures end and who don’t they target? Will every Russian citizen have to pay a Rebuild Ukraine tax until Ukraine is rebuilt? Looking at a trillion dollar bill with no end to the total in sight might well make Putin say “If you want a war, you got a war.” And before some start screaming appeaser try remembering some history involving onerous reparations and the consequences. -

Ukraine/Russian Conflict - General Discussion
He's probably being sarcastic, and has a reputation for it - he publicly ridiculed Liz Truss, the UK Foreign Secretary, after leading her into saying that parts of Russia (Rostov and Voronezh) were actually parts of Ukraine. The problem is that China and Russia view international law as an extension of US law, and dismiss it as political.
