Spotify is owned by Google. Do you know a bigger target?

The size of the media as important as it is doesn't eliminate the amount of fake news and censored and biased narrative coming from MSM. Don't let dislike for Joe Rogan allow yet another red herring divert the legacy media's proven lies.

People on this forum are criticizing Joe for allowing open free speech discussions. If Joe Rogan is such a poor interviewer, then who exactly is good?

Here is my beef with Joe

Well small one because I actually don't mind him

Even though I believe he thinks he's way smarter than he actually is

The ivermectin issue

I don't disagree with him, I've read where it cam help

But I think his pushing ivermectin perfectly encapsulates him as well

He knows what type of platform he has.

To just push ivermectin when he knows most of his users will go out and buy the horse shit is irresponsible

And it shows he's a bit out of touch.

Because he thinks everyone had the connections he does and would be able to get the proper ivermectin

So it was a bit irresponsible and out of touch

And I think that sums him up at times

I tend to agree with you and a very bad trait on their part

I'm still going to judge you for being a parrot though    😀

It's ok I like parrots, sheep not so much

Misinformation is when you give the wrong information

As Rogan did here.....

I think he's someone that isn't even close to as smart as he thinks he is

I know nothing of Joe Rogan, but in respect to your comment, I have this to say:

There are those who listen to talk show hosts who suffer "vicarious smartness". What I mean by that, is they listen to somebody who is telling them what they want to hear, and because that person agrees with them, and is earning lots of money telling them what they want to hear, they figure, "He's smart. He agrees with me, therefore I must also be smart".

When Alex Jones started making a name for himself, I recall watching some of his fans explain why they were so devoted and many of them said, "He's smart and he agrees with me". One even said, "He's so smart, I'd let him do my thinking for me".

Albeit this was in the days before Sandy Hook, where he has since claimed to have mental health probs, and he has also been selling toothpaste that he claims can cure covid. I am not sure any of that will have harmed his image with his fanbase. The problem there is that of agreeing with him makes you vicariously smart, then when his stupidity or dishonesty is exposed, does that not make you vicariously stupid?

There are too many people who are unaware that the full quotation, "Great minds think alike", ends "But fools seldom differ".

Returning to Mr Rogan, I don't know what he said, and if I looked into it, it is possible I might not be able to come to a definite conclusion, and in that case, my current view is that whatever the situation, I am assuming good faith on his part.

Joe Rogan is like the drunk bloke at the pub telling you racist/sexist/whateverist jokes and conspiracy theories. You laugh or listen, because it’s entertainment, or you don’t however you don’t take it seriously and if you do take it seriously it’s time to tune out and go home or have another beer.  Let the perceived whackos rant and if the sheep follow them that isn’t my problem as I am no shepherd. Young has just shot himself in the financial foot but I doubt he’ll feel the pain.

The problem with a leftist is in their minds all that disagree are wrong.

I think the same could be said of the right.

Meanwhile, I am still waiting for some to define "leftist".

As far as I can tell, it means anyone that does not agree with "my" right wing views. So there are two conservatives disagreeing about say, healthcare or the minimum wage. That makes one of these a leftist. And suppose one is on favour of greater public access to healthcare, but the other in favour of increasing the minimum and there is also disagreement on that. Surely in each others eyes, all they can see is that they are both arguing with a leftist.

Does anyone understand why I find the term so vacuous? "I am a conservative. I do not agree with you politically so therefore you are a leftist".

I’m assuming most readers of these forums live in Thailand, though I might be wrong. If things like this really affect you, then do something about them. Otherwise enjoy the Kingdom and all of its quirks.
Advice I have to keep giving myself of course 😅

Joe Rogan is a semi talented comedian who's big break came on a reality TV show overseeing people eat cockroaches. Now he has a platform that allows him to feast on the generally stupidity and gullibility of the majority of Americans. He's not always right, and he's not always wrong, but he is certainly not cry on the way to the bank.

But it's too late if he is wrong and someone dies by it.

<deleted content>

If he was wrong and someone just blindly follows it, that'd be natural selection I guess. No one should do anything without thinking.

Btw, almost in every sentence he mentions that people should think for themselves, do their own research because he's not a specialist nor a doctor. So it'd be really stupid to just blindly follow without doing research.

He just give guests the chance to present their information. What's the problem? Are people angry at him for giving many people the chance to talk? Oh wait, in 2022 only certain people may speak. Everyone else may not speak.

Turns out the people who weren't allowed to speak were closer to the truth than the ones who were allowed to speak.

Interesting hot and cold comments about Rogan in this thread.

IMV, he regurgitated the required Hollywood opinions most of the time from Los Angeles.   He routinely wore his ignorance on his sleeve.  "I don't know jack ****" and "I'm such a meathead, don't listen to me".  Jon Stewart, who I like most of the time as well, would often deploy a similar "I'm just a comedian" escape card, but only when he got himself backed into a debate corner.  Rogan was more genuine and believable in that way, so he wasn't such an intentional Dark Horse.

During the last couple years in California with the COVID stuff going on, Rogan, and his increasing bank account and popularity, began taking himself and his opinion more seriously, like an actor or a rapper would, as if their opinion should matter to us.  His train set though, no problem, we all have the choice to turn it on, or off.

When Rogan got that big bag of money from Spotify money, he jumped on the "Screw California, I'm moving to Texas!" cliche pity party with other virtue signaling actors and entertainers whinging about how oppressed and beaten down they were.  The Right Wing media, who wouldn't have pissed on Rogan if he were on fire, perked up a bit and started paying attention.

Rogan was officially "jumped in" to the Fox News Fake Patriot Gang when he pulled that proverbial drive-by shooting of CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta.  I do feel that he's playing to the right wing crowd, and intentionally trolling liberals, from Texas..... well, Austin's in Texas, but not really, wink wink, LOL.

At this point, if I want to hear Rogan's political/social opinion, all I need to do is go to Fox News and pull the chain at the back of Tucker Carlson's neck.  Job Done. 😴

News Forum - Neil Young pulls music from Spotify over Joe Rogan’s misinformation

If you agree with Joe Rogan the information is fine.  If you disagree with the information than you label it is "MISINFORMATION"

Reread my post... He and his guest can talk all they want. Nowhere did I mention censorship. Calm down. He's just a half talented TV personality (not unlike most). And he's getting rich doing it (I should be so lucky). My comment was more about the lack of critical thinking and general gullibility of his audience, and their inability to discern fact from fiction.

Joe Rogan talks to everyday People everyday.

Neil Young probably hasn't spoken to normal folk for over 20 years now he's sounding about like Cher and that Bettie Midler Woman he probably needs to get outta his bubble and talk to some real People not just in cyberspace.

Neil Young might sing about Living in the free World but Joe Rogan lives in the real World.

I think I read somewhere that spotify gave him $100 million at sometime of the other for exclusivity of him and his program.  Sounds like a lot of money to me. Neil is worth a couple of hundred million and then some
