A sad story. I don't think we're going to see Goma and Tama any time soon.

I hope that they can still survive outside despite not being found. Although the likelihood is kinda slim since these are Japanese cats, they may not be acclimatize to Thai environment nor have the skills to compete with the local cats and dogs.

Or they could be samurai cats.

I think these cats went the way of Jim Thompson.

Based on my limited knowledge of cat behaviour, they will not have wandered far. Thus if they have not been seen for two months, it is not encouraging.

Cats are very good to adopting to environments, but if they are socialised to people, there is a good chance that they might have been adopted.

I'm hoping they have been adopted.

Like paying to get your bar girl back.  If she left you it is for a reason.  If the cats left it is for a reason - same same.

Cats are not stupid or monogamous AFAIK.  They find a better home with better food and that is where they will stay.  Simple animal logic

It's actually very common for cats to get lost in a move. Everything is strange to them and cats of all animals, are easily stressed when moving. The recommended advice when moving home with cats, is to keep them in the new home for 24 hours before letting them wander, so that the can familiarise themselves and recognise the new food and comfort zone.

It's not clear in the original, but it looks as if they did a runner on the first day.

Oh well ..... the Japanese isn't wearing a mask while the Thai is, so my sympathy's limited 😕.

Do not see where she just moved to Phuket with her cats.  Says a delivery person left the door open and they got out?  Yes ?  anyways

I was being a smartass in a way, yet have never been a real cat person, though have had friends and girlfriends who were.  Yet almost every cat I have known has scratched me within 0 -3 years once or twice.

Pet or scratch them the wrong way or at the wrong time and see how fast those cat reflexes are  55

Have had a couple rescue dogs, one I still think about when I see a similar dog or hear of someone elses dog passing away.  Attachment to domestic animals is real.  A piece of my heart was lost when my last dog passed away.

She needs an Ace Ventura Pet Detective who wants this reward money !

Or is it a devious plot from kidnappers waiting for a big payday from the Japanese businesswoman?

I can understand attachment to domestic pets, and in particular dogs. They will never make judgements on you. But I also agree with those who will tell you, "You can never own a cat. A cat owns you".

No doubt you are aware that certain dogs are extremely intelligent among animals. I once watched a science programme about a man who had a Border Collie, and he had a roomful of 800 stuffed toys, which all had names on them such as John, Paul, George and Ringo. The owner would say, "Where is John"? and the dog would go into the "toy room" and rummage around for a while, and come back with the toy named John. Then he made it more difficult. He piled the toys into a "mountain" and then asked, "Where is George"? The dog then went into the room and starts rummaging through the pile and you can see him tossing toys aside as he digs down, and comes back with George.

By this time I was quite amazed, but the final trick really stunned me. The TV crew had brought a totally new toy with them. They checked on the list of names that had been used, and seeing there was no toy named "Clyde". They wrote Clyde on the toy and threw it into the toy room. And the owner asked the dog, "Where is Clyde", but never shows the toy to the dog. This time, the dog takes about 10 mins and comes back with "Clyde". It appears that the dog was going through the room and based on his knowledge of knowing the names of all 800 toys, selected the only toy whose name he didn't know. I was amazed that a dog could remember 800 names, but to see a dog capable of logical thinking of that order was a truly enlightening look at "man's best friend".

Absolutely true! I hate to point that out.

I love cats but I was conflicted when I saw Bangkok Pat feeding feral(?) cats...
