People in vulnerable health groups are being urged to take up the free flu vaccine being offered at government clinics. Jakkrit Ngowsiri from the National Health Security Office says his office is working with the Department of Disease Control to offer 4.2 million doses of the flu vaccine to 7 vulnerable groups, between May 1 and August 31. The vaccine reduces the risk of the flu causing severe illness and death. The head of commercial operations at Thai Lion Air says high oil prices continue to hinder recovery in the aviation sector. Nuntaporn Komonsittivate says that, while tourism is slowly improving since the easing of entry restrictions, airlines are still struggling. “The airline business has grappled with the pandemic for more than 2 years. If they knew it was coming, why did they wait till the day before to call up reserves? It really is that simple. Grab up 2-3 grain ships, put them under the UN flag. Fill them up with media, and do gooders. Make sure everyone knows it’s grain to feed poor starving kids, and sail them right on in. Carry it on live TV, how much fun would that be? Oh wait there is the problem of those pesky mines again. You know the ones Ukraine set without any ships to do so, to keep out who again? Oh that’s right the cargo ships they need for their economy to function.
