New Emirates covid insurance?

Recommended Posts

Sorry if this was already posted, I used the search function for 'emirates insurance' and it gave me nothing after nov/dec last year.

So I was checking possible flights and noticed Emirates offers Covid insurance until March 31st. While it seems to be slightly different from what they offered before it looks to me this would qualify for a Thailand Pass.

This is what it says it covers:

  • Up to USD 175,000 for COVID‑19 related overseas medical expenses and emergency evacuation if you test positive for COVID‑19.
  • Emergency medical evacuation and repatriation if you test positive for COVID‑19 while overseas.
  • USD 115 per day, per person, for up to 14 consecutive days if you test positive for COVID 19 and are unexpectedly placed into mandatory quarantine while overseas.

Unlike the previous offer (i think?) this will only be valid for a month after your flight

Your coverage is valid for the duration of your return trip (or up to 31 days after your departure date from your original country of departure, whichever is earlier).

If you’re flying on a one way trip, the coverage ends 31 days after you arrive at your final overseas destination.

In the FAQ it also says they will continue to cover you if you end up quarantined during, but extending beyond your original end-date.
