News Forum - Governor to drain the swamp with Bangkok’s criminal fraternity
All human beings deserve humane treatment. Being a criminal does not mean they should be forced to do labor for the state. The worse of the worst should not even be on work release. And anyone who AGREES to work release should be nominally paid and treated fairly. It's the right thing to do. Prison is not suppose to be a picnic, but it shouldn't mean you are a slave or be abused. At the end of the day, if the prisoners agree, and are happy to to it (for a few baht and time away from their cells), then win-win. -

Staying Positive.
Well have choices. I decided it was healthier all round if I rejected numero uno. So I chose number 2. 1. Allow yourself to get sad, depressed, upset by letting your mind be played like a ping pong ball with all the media doom and gloom, which is what it is designed to do ( make you sad/ angry/ depressed/fearful, which in turn lowers your immune system's capablities). 2. Stop giving a sheet if the world/society doesn't want to save itself- by a) focusing on what YOU can do to be happy...it's much easier to change yourself than another.. and b) practising outcome independence. I don't mean being heartless. Don't stress about outcomes at every individual level , as in the daily frustrations. Do focus on YOUR overall goals. So that means having some (goals). 2 at a time at most. 3. Perspective. And practice gratitude, there's not enough of that shown nowadays. There are billions of people who have it worse than you do. Did you sleep on a comfy bed with roof over your head? Still have all your limbs so you can be mobile and independent? Have some savings in the bank? Access to clean drinking water? Little chance of disease because you have running water to wash your hands and a sewerage system? Nice, your are doing OK. 4. Talk to some people. Simple, daily connections, however brief, make a difference. Small chit chat is fine. Use your mind and heart, good man, to see the good . No-one said it's easy. You might be pleasantly surprised, occasionally. -

The 60s group The Monkees actually had the pox, I was very skeptical at first till I saw their faces, now I'm a believer.- 1

New Arrival
Can go anywhere. I recently went through Soyouwannaboom. First checkpoint, QR codes were scanned by a panel of 5 seated women. Would be a good idea to print a paper copy ( as well as the Thailand Pass / QR code on your phone) as this made it easy for the airline check in, as well. Then through immigration ( just passport and ticket), then collect luggage as usual. Finally just walk out the doors to that unmistakable heat, humidity, sights and sounds that let you know you've arrived once again to begin your new adventure.
