Early this morning, fishermen off the coast of Phuket found the body of a man washed up on the beach. The corpse showed no signs of injury, however, police found incriminating glue stains on his clothes and a can of glue near his body. They also found a shrimp-catching bucket near the body. Police believe the man had been sniffing glue before hunting for shrimp, and then fainted and drowned during high tide. Authorities later identified the man as 41 year old Sa-art Wangdee. This is just so sad. Glue sniffing is the "narcotic" of the poor. It has been a terrible problem among the indigenous people of my country. There are underlying issues that cause people to turn to this.

Why are vices turned into segues for intractable "underlying issues"?

Rich people snort Columbia "glue" called cocaine - are there underlying issues with the rich? 

People do drugs because they are rewarded for it.

Same reason people drink beer (which is also a drug). 

Do we need to appeal to "underlying issues" as to why someone got drunk?
