Hmmm....

Sounds vaguely familiar.

Slowly sinking capital with calls to relocate.

Plus chronic traffic, pollution and flooding ...

Ho Chi Minh, but not yet calls for relocation.

Just massive perennial efforts to keep afloat.

Yes and no. The much greater difference that Saigon benefits, from a city that sits on the edge of a swampy and very seasonal flood plain, is that principle surrounding region and land base is quite stable and not prone to the future disasters that could be foreseen throughout sister cities within the region.....

Bangkok too!!!! What is it...maybe 1- 1.5m above sea level!?

25 years time and it too will be submerged due to sea level increases...along with Florida, Bangladesh and the Netherlands to name 3 others!! "SEA water ingress coming to a city near you!!"

The Netherlands will just build more and higher dams and install more pumps, I think.

25% is already laying under sea level
