The Covid-19 pandemic, in addition to an ageing population and declining birth rates, has created a labour shortage in Thailand. Over the past two years, unemployed Thais have started to leave their jobs to work as freelancers or run their own businesses. The National Economic and Social Development Council states that the number of Thais in the workforce will go from 43.2 million in 2020 to 36.5 million in 2040. The ratio of working-age Thais with Thais aged 60 and over is expected to decline from 3.6 in 2020 to 1.8 in 2040. Reasons for this decline vary by industry. […]

Soon the worker shortage will be made more acute with the spread of Omicron as workers stay away from work to isolate, having contracted it or been a close contact. Hopefully that aspect will be short lived.

Omicron has shown a rapid rise and fast fall pattern. Also, for some who have been vaccinated, a "breakthrough" infection is said to provide "super immunity"

Omicron could be the end of the pandemic :-)

Those findings were similar to other studies, such as a far larger one in Israel.

Unfortunately the study's sample, like Israel's, were pre-Omicron:

"We have not examined the omicron variant specifically, but based on the results of this study we would anticipate that breakthrough infections from the omicron variant will generate a similarly strong immune response among vaccinated people".

All more recent studies I'm aware of unfortunately show that despite what was 'anticipated' and 'hoped', Omicron gives virtually no immunity at all to other variants, such as Delta, and only limited immunity even to Omicron.

Omicron could be the end of the pandemic :)

Unfortunately all the actual evidence so far indicates that's just wishful thinking and that it doesn't give the hoped for immunity, just the opportunity for more and deadlier variants to develop.

Actually, the truer struggle comes in the form of accepting what it is and living with it.

Instead, we opt for the continuous cycle of highly manufactured hysteria and paranoia driven purely by politics of unethical standing.

Why?

Sorry, I've no idea what you mean by a "truer struggle" or what you're asking.
