An investigation is still pending but the 3 plain-clothed police officers may be charged with attempted murder for firing at the vehicle when it failed to stop at the unclear checkpoint

According to the source Bangkok Post article they've already been charged:

"Following the filing of the complaint, the three policemen manning the checkpoint were initially charged with attempted murder, pending further investigation, Pol Maj Gen Waesamae said".

Back to traffic & tourist harassment duties, with their immediate boss, for next five years, before retraining as “detectives”.
