Oh dear, well, I think most of us would have done a runner in the same 'boat', the fools with the guns should be reassigned to some more in their line, like disabled parking infringements...

According to the source Bangkok Post article they've already been charged:

"Following the filing of the complaint, the three policemen manning the checkpoint were initially charged with attempted murder, pending further investigation, Pol Maj Gen Waesamae said".

That’s a definite NO at every stage of this daft operation. Improperly trained inexperienced undercover detectives? 
Let’s put them all together as an unsupervised field team !
