News Forum - Japan government says masks not needed outside if you don’t talk too much
Right even if imperfect, vaccination and antivirals all have a roll to play. So why doesn’t the government focus on that rather than the fantasy that’s masks and Thailand Pass are the solution. All of the tools are there yet they are being glacially slow to move on. -

News Forum - Travellers will still have to wear face masks post-endemic phase in Thailand
It’s always debatable unless you have proof. If you look at the posts after yours people are reporting that tourists are walking around quite happily without masks and there are no consequences for them. My friends who arrived recently for a holiday in Phuket had no idea that masks were required until I told them and they weren’t bothered when they found out.If there was a warning about mask wearing when people apply for the TP everyone would know before coming to Thailand but as there isn’t I would argue that Thailand’s mask mandate doesn’t impact selection of Thailand as a destination because most tourists won’t find out until they get here. As masks are still required by many airlines I don’t think it will be a massive shock that they have to continue wearing them in country. Out of interest does anyone know if there are any signs up at airports regarding mask mandates? -

News Forum - Police under investigation in central Thailand after viral video
A professional would be able to judge the amount of aggression to apply in the face of potential danger, and stop as soon as the subject is under control. Those policemen are clearly on the other side of the spectrum, either due to incompetence or due to being bastards who relish in their power, knowing they won't be held accountable (…unless an unforeseen clip somehow makes it into the realm of social media). Either way, the solution is not to take action (only) when accidental clips hit social media, but to equip all policemen with mandatory bodycams while on duty, and have an independent board with sufficient authority review them on a regular basis.
