  1. Yea I am aware of search engine and social platform bias based on user preferences and yea It can be insidious. I didn’t do a deep dive into this doctor but I do tend to view non-experts with wildly different opinions from mainstream science with a certain degree of skepticism. This didn’t help: https://www.factcheck.org/2021/07/vaccines-remain-largely-effective-against-delta-variant-counter-to-claims-from-fox-news-guest/ Still even the experts insights and knowledge keeps quickly evolving, I should keep an open mind.
  2. Thanks, I’m honestly curious to read any new insights. That said the doctor you referred to seems to be somewhat controversial based on a bit of googling. More importantly he is a cardiologist and not a virologist or epidemiologist, I’m not sure what expertise he can bring to the table relating to virology.
  3. Those are some bold claims. Could you provide some reputable sources? Because all of this is new to me.
  4. I wouldn't bet on finding one easily and exchanging currency at a hotel is the equivalent of burning money. Plan on using ATM's or hope there's an open Super Rich booth at the airport.
  5. Any (short) transit outside of Thailand is allowed when you're flying into Phuket, Doha and Singapore are both fine.
  6. Some things I picked up along the way for my own research. 1. No clue 2. No, shouldn't a problem if you're going straight to the airport when entering Phuket again overland. They changed it recently. I think you only need to be fully vaccinated. 3. The only insurance I was able to find that would cover an ALQ was the one you get for free with Emirates when you fly with them. It also covers the CEO requirements and some extra stuff. I don't think you need to stay in an SHA+ hotel after 14 since you are allowed to overnight with friends and family after this period. I don't see why you couldn't also stay at a non SHA+ hotel.
  7. Do they test again after a positive result to rule out false positives?
  8. I’m curious if tourists visiting Phuket as a unmarried couple would be split up if required to quarantine, just as they would for a regular ASQ. If so, doubling the cost of a trip and might end up being beyond the means of some that are planning the visit. I haven’t seen any official information about ALQ’s, prices and detailed procedures for visitors. It would be nice for visitors to know exactly what they would be dealing with if required to quarantine just like Steffanie.

    Phuket Sandbox

You can check here for more information: Tourism Authority of Thailand https://www.tatnews.org/2021/06/initial-information-phuket-sandbox/ The information keeps being updated, as it stand now this the only thing mentioned about children: “Travellers under 18 years of age, travelling with their parents or guardians, must have a medical certificate with a laboratory result by an RT-PRC method indicating that COVID-19 is not detected no more than 72 hours before their travel date.”
