  1. Thank you very much Andrew, i have noted these titles.
  2. I am reading a classic entitled; Vanity Fair by William Thackeray, Always wanted to read it and it’s the 1st classic that I have read since leaving school. Preview taken from Goodreads https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5797.Vanity_Fair A novel that chronicles the lives of two women who could not be more different: Becky Sharp, an orphan whose only resources are her vast ambitions, her native wit, and her loose morals; and her schoolmate Amelia Sedley, a typically naive Victorian heroine, the pampered daughter of a wealthy family.
  3. I am very traditional Silbers and much prefer to have the physical book to read from. I can see the benefits of downloads and the choices are endless and never coming away from a local bookshop empty handed. Might have a look at downloading classics and take it from there.
  4. Great, everyone is busy reading and I have no book at the moment and will head to Asia Books at the weekend.
  5. Very early start time Alice, husband will be watching it and he is very confident England can win this Trophy.
  6. You never mentioned this place before and going to bring the kids there to run amuck on board, whilst I enjoy my Latte.
  7. We have not been offered any alternatives in the greater Patttaya area that i have come across and when we are doing the main weekly shop tomorrow, will keep an eye out. There are rubbish bins and they are small and pretty infrequent in populated areas.
  8. Next time when drinking shots, have one of these B-52 is made using Kahlua, then Baileys Irish Cream, and then Grand Marnier on top. David, where is your selections?
  9. No judgement from me Alice and my two youngest are listening to me reading "Giraffes can't dance" It is the story about Gerald a friendly, yet clumsy giraffe
  10. Oil Spill Shots To make these little blue layered shooters, mix up Goldschläger, blue curacao, and Jägermeister. Be warned after a few of these the legs are a bit wobbly
  11. In 1975; Parnchand, Phra Chamroon, was awarded the prestigious Magsaysay Prize for his excellent work among drug addicts. He was a former policeman who became a Buddhist monk and led fellow monks in Northeast Bangkok to help address drug addiction by setting up a unique drug treatment center that is anchored on spiritual and traditional approaches. In 1987 another Thai monk, Ven.Kantayapiwat was awarded the Norwegian Children's Peace Prize for his many years work helping homeless children in rural areas.
  12. Hey, King Cotton Very well done and i wish you every success and when it gets published, let me know and i will buy a copy or download one for kindle. I see, Lee Child is a crime fiction author and on Amazon he has written a lot of books, will mention him to the husband.
  13. I love to read and but then life got busy with raising a bunch of wonderful and beautiful girls. With all the negativity that Covid19 has delivered to the world, I felt it was time to have a more positive outlook on life and I hope this book delivers. The Happiness Project: Or, Why I Spent a Year Trying to Sing in the Morning, Clean My Closets, Fight Right, Read Aristotle, and Generally Have More Fun. Written by Gretchen Rubin
  14. Very true words Alice and its a question that is on my mind every day "When?"
  15. Good news and i am still in the 25-34 years old category, hanging off by my nails.
  16. Oasis Spa Pattaya, impressive service and very clean and convenient to use. Excellent massage and spa massage and treatments and will be going back for more relaxation in the near future.
  17. Top of my list of Thai customs and traditions, that i would bring back to Manchester is: If you are invited to someone's home, it is considered polite to bring them a small gift of flowers or chocolates
  18. Pattaya is appalling for traffic accidents when the tourist season is in full force and the amount of hired cars that have mishaps is absolutely staggering. Very few accidents at the moment due to covid-19 with the lack of tourism.
  19. Not to be left out, I have reviewed my favorite Restaurant in Pattaya which is “Yes Vegan” It is a small, family run restaurant and all the staff are just fabulous. It was the 1st Vegan indoor restaurant in Pattaya which opened back in 2017. They have a good menu with a nice variety of Thai, Asian and Western dishes. I have eaten here at least 4 times and have always enjoyed the food. The menu does get changed often as they create new menu choices. All meals are very reasonably priced and I highly recommend this restaurant.
  20. Husband plays Golf and is pretty good and i prefer the 19th hole.
  21. No Problems with buying bottles of wine in the greater Pattaya area in the convenience shops.
  22. Talking of Asia Books, they have a branch at the Central Festival Pattaya Beach SIS
  23. Enjoy the cocktails Andrew Reeve. I tried a Gin Spritz in a trendy Manchester bar over 8 years ago and never looked back. Its normally made with BOMBAY SAPPHIRE gin, MARTINI Riserva Speciale Bitter, freshly squeezed lemon juice, Honey syrup and Premium tonic water
  24. Sanctuary of Truth is an all wooden structure that has been under construction since 1981. They estimate it will be at least 20 years before it is finished. The building itself is incredible and you will find exquisite wood carvings, intricate patterns and craftsmanship. This is a must visit if you are in the area. I find this place very calming and have visited it at least 6 times over the last few years, mainly with family and friends.
