  1. Pheww, that's a relief . . . I've got mine booked for October . . . 2023.
  2. The world's biggest petrified log? . . . Prayut, of course . . . ask me a harder one.
  3. Worth noting that the controversial Dr Wong avoided quoting the benchmark for a vaccine's efficacy, namely its percentage likelihood of success. The report merely mentions his stating that the cocktail causes the 'the immune system will shoot up to 900 units'. All very well, good doctor, if only that stat enabled fair and ready comparison of this cocktail against other, non-Sinovac mixes.
  4. Oops, it's the Stonker memory failing again, as today's post confirms. Further to my preceding post, it does look like, in your desperate attempts to look smart, you're now out-smarting yourself. What was that, about not mentioning "the Phuket and Pattaya tourist centres specifically", when, only 16 hrs ago, you said "as they realise that however much Phuket and Pattaya want tourists to return, etc . . ." ?
  5. I'm fairly sure that @dmacarelli, in using the term 'they', meant the Thai tourism authorities and central govt, rather than the Phuket and Pattaya tourist centres specifically - or as you put it, 'a lot of Thais' who I'm sure are not the 'they' at issue. He/she was alluding to Thai govt officialdom short-sightedness, IMO. Yes, of course. I have a lot of affection and respect for most Thai people. It is the officials (city, provincial and national) which have lost all my respect, and whom I despise to no end! Sounds to me, with his 'Yes, of course', like @dmacarellifully agreed with my interpretation of his 'they' reference. Come on, Stonker . . . don't be such a child. When you drop a point, occasionally, just be big enough to admit it and maybe apologise, too.
  6. Come on, sing up, so long as you do it better than JD . . . he gave me the creeps. Great song, though!
  7. After this fracas, what can one say about how this country is being run misrun? A ship without a rudder and without a captain with a functioning brain are the first words that come to mind.
  8. The '40' were just those heading to Ubon Ratchathani, whilst the rest were destined for other cities between there and BKK.
  9. So much for the DDC saying, earlier today, that new infections may be falling in Bangkok . . . falling at such a rate that the 'authorities' - un-specified in the report - see fit to organise this first-time-ever evacuation of Covid sufferers. Quite difficult to correlate this action to DDC's earlier optimism.
  10. You seem to be assuming that "they" want tourists to come. Maybe things would look different if you considered that "they" aren't as desperate for tourists to come as some think, as they realise that however much Phuket and Pattaya want tourists to return a lot of Thais don't - rightly or wrongly - so all they're trying to do is keep a lid on things and hang on for as long as they can. Good evening, Stonker! I'm fairly sure that @dmacarelli, in using the term 'they', meant the Thai tourism authorities and central govt, rather than the Phuket and Pattaya tourist centres specifically - or as you put it, 'a lot of Thais' who I'm sure are not the 'they' at issue. He/she was alluding to a Thai govt officialdom short-sightedness, IMO.
  11. Do your utmost every day to make ALL those people around you happy . . . and be happy if only ONE of them manages to return the favour, since their lot may be a hundred times harder than your own.
  12. I didn't need to - you've done that all by yourself. 'A lier is a person or object that rests in a horizontal position' or 'a person who lies in wait for someone'. Best watch your back, Stonker!
  13. You've read what @SickBuffalohas said and it's none of your above rhetorical suggestions. Now why not simply give the forum your views on the topic, other than your pedantic definition of 'actually vulnerable' that interested no-one other than yourself? We're waiting . . .
