  4. 100,000 foreign tourists from where? Most countries are not allowing foreign travel and those that are have Thailand firmly in their Red zone list with strict do not travel to advise.

  6. So does this mean that International arrivals will have the same requirements to arrive in Phuket (fully vaccinated, pre flight PCR test) no more COE etc. etc. or does all the BS still apply but only for International arrivals. I doubt it very much. 555 TIT.

  10. What vaccines? 8 months ago Colombia was a disaster area, vaccination wise. They didn't receive their first Covax shots until March 2021. So how did the variant "mutate" to become vaccine resistant?

  13. You might be wrong with that. These days, you see a lot of red plated cars, or "not the usual vios/hillux" but with Bangkok / no phuket plates on the island. There are lots of 'vip', with enough money, to go to Phuket. And, of course, with connections, to jump the vaccination line. Or the test/check at the bridge!

  14. More wishful thinking! The Thai population is in over it's head in debt, it sees no benefit in spending money to travel to an open prison that lacks any opportunities for entertainment. So it will stay at home.

  15. The numbes, to the antivaxxers, would seem atrocious, but those numbers are against how many vaccines administered? And while some of these conditions are quite serious an "adverse reaction" can be anything, no matter how minor or major. I had a slight pain in my neck following my first Pfizer jab, which would be considered an adverse reaction. I consider it small potatoes when compared to be stuck on a ventilator for weeks before dying. Lastly, without any vaccines, what would the "adverse reactions" to the virus be? Double? Triple? Qadruple or more?

  16. Vaccine is not perfect yet. But is better than 4 million dead covid adverse reactions. 9,000 yesterday. And 70 million “long covid” adverse reactions. And 200 million “spread it to other people” adverse reactions. And 8 million “business close down forever” adverse reactions. And 1 billion “loose the job” adverse reactions.

  17. Over the last month I have observed the rapid capitulation to Covid, right from fellow citizens to the PM. The PM, according to a headline, recently expressed how we "have to learn to live with it". Fellow citizens, are expressing resignation by no longer caring to put on a mask, foreigners in particular. Keeping in mind that the purpose of a mask is to protect others from yourself, in the event that you are unknowingly carrying this deadly virus, how would we view lets say ethnic groups in i.e. Europe, who would not care about masking, if everybody else was masking? Its not so hard to imagine the reaction it could cause from media, politicians etc. Walking the streets of Pattaya and Jomtien, the situation is that only one of ten foreigners are masking with cover of both mouth and nose. No matter if its outdoor or in 7/11. Sadly, the tendency is spreading to the locals as well. The indifference is spreading like a wildfire, and I wonder how we got to this point, that we care so little about killing the covid and so much about the freedom to kill each other?

  18. Hua Hin is a nice seaside town. I have visited there. But I am seeing the eagerness to open up, could end in disastrous consequences for the local people. I am hearing too many headlines around Thailand of first dose percentages being touted as cause to reopen. For most vaccines (apart from Johnson and Johnson) that two doses are required to reach maximum effectiveness and only after two week after the second dose. It's a common trend in vaccination reporting around the world. Don't be fooled! Two doses and two weeks. See what the percentage really is. It's the only figure worth reporting or being informed by.

  19. I think the aim is to attract the rich and famous from around the world. Yes, I can imagine a person with wealth like that flying in to Hua Hin in the middle of a pandemic. What could possibly go wrong

  20. The microbiology in this article is not quite correct. Viruses in general have no need to mutate or diverge quickly unless human immune response triggers it. In the case of covid, human immune response is being accelerated and viral stress intensified by mass vaccinations, which creates AVE, Accelerated Viral Evolution, that spawns the more rapid emergence of new variants. We should not therefore be surprised about this development, but instead ask more questions about the "science" that is promoting all the experimental vaccines and potentislly creating even more infectious variants!

  21. No, that's not actually true. The CDC do NOT "admit [myocarditis] is a side effect of the MRNA vaccines." You're confusing "is" and "can be" as well as confusing "the 50% mortality rate" with "Most patients who received care responded well to treatment and rest and quickly felt better." The two are very clearly not the same.

  25. don't see how this numbers could affect tourism in Phuket, simply, there is nothing in Phuket to attract tourists at this time. and rich Thai people... they go to Hua Hin :)

  27. Dont forget to click this link at the bottom of the rosy article . For more information on how to get into Thailand during the pandemic, CLICK HERE. Don't forget your COE, Covid tests, health Insurance, Covid insurance etc. They always love to "target" x number of tourists and lets not forget the "wealthy" tourists they plan to attract. Its all a bunch of BS. They have no idea how to target or attract wealthy tourists. shooting from the hip and in the dark.

  28. So much to talk about with Thailand. Such a wonderful place with great people. But the ruling classes are overtly corrupt. Government, Police, Army - All structurally corrupt! This is the sad reality of Thailand. But it doesnt have to be. "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing". I dont begrudge the brave souls that stand up and oppose the lawless Thai elite who oppress the Thai people on a daily basis. Yesterday Tim and Jay suggested the 'Red shirts vs yellow shirts fan base was quite even in numbers'. On what evidence are you basing this statement? Electoral fraud has been a hallmark of Thai democracy. When the Red shirts gain power via elections, the army step in on behalf of the elite. Thailand has had 18 military coups and 18 constitutions since the so called 'democratic revolution' of 1932. Has there ever been a military coup when a yellow shirt government has been in power? I would suggest getting some subject matter experts on the show rather than Tim & Jay pontificating on issues. Too often on this show you offer personal opinion rather than facts. You are nothing more than social commentators. Get some facts into the converstaion and quote your sources . Support your arguements with data. Inject some genuine professionalism into the show. Perhaps a panel discussion with both sides represented. Its great to see this show each day, and with time I am sure it will get better.

  32. As an Indian, I can vouch for that because even I have seen this kind of incident in the infamous Pattaya Beach Road. lol Two types of Indians visit Thailand one in the group the ones you mentioned and the other solo like me who stays in resorts or hotels or even sometimes in hostels too. So let's not generalised like every Indian visiting Thailand is cheap Charlie.

  36. As a self-confessed data nerd, my eyes lit up when I saw these reports. Considering that the report for the AstraZeneca goes for 124 pages and the Pfizer for 98, I thought I was in Heaven But once again, like VAERS before it, I caution anyone just using selected numbers as per the following on the site: This information does not represent an overview of the potential side effects associated with the vaccines. A list of the recognised adverse effects of COVID-19 vaccines is provided in the information for healthcare professionals and the recipient information. These can also be found on the Coronavirus Yellow Card reporting site. Conclusions on the safety and risks of the vaccines cannot be made on the data shown in the Profile alone. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-vaccine-adverse-reactions/coronavirus-vaccine-summary-of-yellow-card-reporting Some stats in summary for you on a combined AstraZeneca and Pfizer basis: There were a combined 336,349 individual reports "showing" 1,118,534 "adverse effects" out of 86.6 million doses. Of the "adverse effects" the top 10 alone accounted for 452,170 "adverse effects". The top 10 I saw through the pages were (in order) headaches, raised body temperature/fever, fatigue, chills, nausea, muscle pain, joint stiffness, dizziness and pain in the extremity. My favourites out of the rest were as follows: Drooling - 21 Persistent genital arousal disorder - 2 Penile size reduced - 2 Arthropod (spiders etc) bites and stings - 8 Hangover -67 Tooth loss - 8 It was also interesting to see that the numbers included 14,385 investigations and tests (i.e. not actually an adverse effect) and 394 reports of inappropriate schedule of product administration! But my all time favourite has to be the one line I spotted in the AstraZeneca report - No adverse effect - 6 All I am saying is be careful with the data you use and how you use it as it can give you some unusual information. After all I suspect most of the families of the claimed combined 1564 "adverse effect" of death may not really care so much about our opinions if it was the vaccine or not.

  37. Locals Thais didn’t travel to Phuket in numbers before the lockdown, why would now be any different? If Phuket really wants to improve the number of tourists visiting. Take those same proposed requirements for locals and apply them to incoming foreigners.

  39. It seems that strong candidates that oppose them are taken out for something and sidelined. It is how they can get the who to interpret and contort the laws and rules for them and the opposition. Doesn't look promising next election either. Watch them redraw the voting boundaries yet again if haven't 100% already to their satisfaction.
