  1. Who is Bob Scott. This article should not be put forward as a news article, it is an opinion piece poorly written. The article embellishes the USA as the bad guys on all fronts, not just China but as the instigator of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia. the article calls the NATO alliance a guerilla outfit, as if it has used these tactics on Russia before the invasion. Then questions if USA would not have invaded another country if they were so threatened with weapons lined at them, conveniently forgetting the Cuba Missile crises. the article states China has never invaded another country since being under the control of CCP, has he not heard of Tibet, has he not heard of the Buddhist statues being demolished there and the persecution of monks. the original articles he quotes are well written, this piece is a poorly ascribed piece of USA bashing and does no service to the Taiger whatsoever.

  2. I take every poll published on this site/in Thailand with a GIANT grain of salt; if the polling methodology isn't accessible then it is a waste of electrons. However, I do believe that the Land Of Smiles is smiling a lot less, and I blame Prayut and the Military & Co. I started visiting Thailand at the start of the '90s or so and fell in love; on every street, in every Soi, with every shopkeeper, with every street-seller, with everyone there was a sense of fun and a sense that literally anything could happen in the next few minutes. Globally, the entire world was watching Thailand as the NEXT BIG THING on the global stage, and everyone thought great things were just over the horizon. It was a glorious time when the Thai people began learning what they wanted and how to express it. Then the coup in 2006. Then again in 2014. The world isn't watching anymore, except with sadness. And the life began to get sucked out of Thailand, bit by bit by bit by bit. New laws/regs limiting the wildness, new laws/regs governing and limiting all aspects of life, new laws/regs giving the government the right to snoop, monitor and interfere at will, etc, etc, etc. By the way, before anyone starts whining "Thaksin was worse", let me say the Thai people elected him and his parties, and that is what matters. Moreover, while I didn't (and don't) like the guy, he was a good PM and infinitely better than the current one. Finally, it is apparent that the current lot are trying to re-create the ambiance and 'joie de vivre' of an Army base, except do it nation-wide, and sadly that have accomplished part of their goal. "Government angry Thailand came last in ‘Land of Smiles’ poll" Dear Government If you are angry about coming last in the poll, look in the mirror for the reason why.

  4. I can’t believe how people support the Chinese government and their polices. Chinese government supports countries like North Korea and Russia. The so called economic support to other countries comes with lots string attached china screwed Hong Kong and want to do the same with Taiwan. Whoever wrote this article shouldn’t be writing for the Thaiger Shame on you Thaiger!!!

  5. I'm no fan of Pelosi or of the US government in general, but maybe we need to review the basic facts of the situation here: when the communists took over the mainland, the normal, much less insane people fled to Taiwan. Their decision to do that was immediately thoroughly and completely vindicated by the communists killing somewhere in the neighborhood of 50M Chinese people, many tens of millions of those by starvation, many tens of millions more by outright murder via every conceivable means. So, there is no "one China" .. there are the criminal murderers, and some of the murderers' intended victims who managed to get away. The cowardly and insane media likes to try to think itself into a pretzel coming up with reasons that it's good to support the murderer instead of the fleeing victim, but normal people who still have consciences are able to think about it and come to a more correct interpretation.

  7. In other breaking news "new studies" have uncovered pictures of ships falling off the edge of earth. The discovery solves many of the unsolved ship disapearances and proves the earth is actually flat. 1. You had a level 4 virol lab in of all places in the world "wuhan" 2. You had the renowned bat virologist Shi Zengli working at the lab 3. The closest cave of horseshoe bats are 1600 KM away from Wuhan. It is sure a good thing that those people who processed the infected animals got lucky and were not infected where the meat was processed. Even luckier was that the meat only went to Wuhan and not any other cities in China which could have caused the outbreak to occur in multiple cities. 4. The Chinese from the National Institute of Health concerning some of the earliest data on coronavirus be deleted and they were. Probably just information on "yoga routines" "family vacations" and wedding planning. We know those occur all the time. 5. Huang Yanling a researcher in her 20's at the Wuhan lab and suggested to be "patient zero" based on an internet search is still missing. I am sure she just took a long vacation. 6. China flatly refused to allow inspection of the Wuhan lab and its records citing that doing so "violated science" Yes certainly if I was innocent I would not want anyone checking into my records to verify that. There is such a thing as "coincidence" but not when such coincidence stretches any bounds of reasonableness.

  14. Another example how this government has no interest to solving solutions based on data. Rather than admit it’s people are less happy and doing something about it (one of the survey questions relating to a smile on the previous day), the government just blames the survey. No wonder people are less happy. Just a note on the article, the survey is based on responses from each country—not tourists.

  15. Hey this would be simple. The Thai would just have to go to the immigration department with their passport, thai id, house book, two witnesses, and their Chanote. Fill out a simple certificate of residency make sure you have two passport size photos and then submit them for remimbursement. If the money does not show up in your Thai bank within 6 months you can then return to file a lost reimbursement claim.

  22. Love this continuing comedy show. laws introduced that nobody follows and that the police don't understand or care about, unless they can pocket the fines. The law books are full of them here. Remember the no one to ride in the back of a pick up, remember the car seats for kids, remember the only two people on a motorbike and helmets to be worn, remember the speed limits, alcohol laws, taxing of cars, vehicle insurance; I could go on to the bottom of this page. Laws are no good if there is no ' Rule of Law' that is respected by the public and a competent police force to enforce them. The comedy goes on and will never end here .

  25. There's really not much need for anyone else to exert any special effort to make Muslims look bad. They're going to keep shooting people and blowing stuff up (probably including this statue). It's not as if their reputation comes from some slander campaign, it just comes from what they do. Sorry.

  27. Ring a ding, the 1960's called and would like its worn out political sloganeering back. The British Empire had its faults but 50+ years have passed since its dismantling and it's legacy of good government, independent judiciary, free press, etc. is on display in nations where the local population were able to handle independence. Examples are Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Antigua & Barbuda, Tonga, Tuvalu. What the UK suffers from now is an influx of economic parasites. Hundreds of thousands of legitimate immigrants follow the rules and are waiting patiently around the world, while mobs of law breakers jump the line. This is nothing about "kharma" or "deserved" retribution. It's all about protecting the law abiding decent immigrants who respect the rules.

  28. They say the most plausible origin was the market, not definite. Some questions, if the CCP had nothing to hide why did they punish Australia for suggesting an inquiry. Why did they silence everyone who knew something about it, why bleach all the evidence, why lie about it, why did it take 12 months for the CCP to let WHO investigate, why were people not allowed to be interviewed by WHO. The biggest question is why did the CCP not all WHO to investigate the lab if they had nothing to hide. I know where the Wuhan virus came from and it wasn’t the wet market.

  29. This is a testament to how stupid ‘the mob’ can be. We don’t catch chicken pox from chickens or Spanish flu from Spaniards, either. Also a testament to the power of whatever nomenclature is applied to a new ailment, as the name itself can provide a vehicle for misinformation.

  30. Not it’s not. There is a sucker born every day and a greedy one born every hour. This just increases the risk which increases the price which increases the profits which increases the number of people who want a slice of a bigger pie. This solves nothing.

CM has 3 and just up the highway going up to Chiang Rai I just saw has a brand new one on a small hill just to the left. And if they normally do what most all mosques do is blare their loud speakers subjecting people to their ritual, then this is not trying to live amongst other keeping their feelings in concideration. Seems to me that these muslims like to complain too much. Not their property and they plainly need to shut up.
