I was taught, and have always believed that if you rear-end someone, you are at fault. Period. Granted his post-contact behavior wasn't exemplary but I feel the Thai woman probably bears nearly all of the responsibility for what eventually transpired.5 points

Thailand has never attempted to pass itself off as a democracy. It is a constitutional monarchy, with emphasis on Monarchy. He who controls the military, controls the country.4 points

Dr don't accept the apology. Let this be a lesson to all those who think they are big due to connections and money. Pull him to court and sue him maximum till his underpants and make sure that Thailand kicks out such people from the land of Thousand Smiles. These foreigners think that they are great and taking advantage of the humbleness of Thai people. Just teach him a lesson that his mother failed to do when he was young.4 points

It's easy to attract Indians, and make them feel at home. They love shit.....human and cow. Human is used in India for decorating the walls and ceilings of public toilets, and landscaping public parks. Cow shit is spread haphazardly on roads and footpaths to help with accidents! And bargirls must negotiate with Indian men; eg. buy one and get three for free. And bottles of beer must come with 4 straws. Also, green phlegm on floors will attract Chinese and Indian tourists...so win-win there!4 points

We do not know how the cyclist was dressed or what safety features he had. However, I expect that the person was appropriately set up for his ride. The reason why some people cycle in the evening is that the temperature is lower and the impact of the sun absent. There is less traffic as well. The fact is that the driver hit the cyclist, slowed down and then took off. This tells me that the driver knew what he had done and was such a spineless coward that he/she ran away. It could just as easily have been a motorcycle or a pedestrian that was hit, so rather than blame the "cyclist" I hold the driver responsible. Hit and run is a vile characteristic in Thailand and until the drivers are severely punished for it, the action will continue.4 points

Really? The Huawei sanctions weren't in response to clandestine data gathering and transmission back to China? Really? It wasn't only the US that discovered this. As for microchip sanctions, I guess that industrial development should allow the stealing, copying and reproduction of proprietary designs and development, eh? I can see that you don't like the U.S. and that's perfectly fine but that doesn't mean everything they do is clandestine or wrong, fitting your preconceived notions. The U.S. wouldn't be the first nation to ban TikTok, nor a bunch of other Chinese apps. How does India fit in with this anti-U.S. view of yours?3 points

I wonder how long that will last. I foresee hordes of Thais in all walks heading off to work in Europe on a tourist visa, if what they do in Taiwan and Korea is anything to go by3 points

Normally when you rear end someone it's your fault, but in the this instance the bike has veered from a straight ahead lane and come to a full stop in front of the car, that was turning left in a clear lane. It is unreasonable to expect the car to have been able to stop. Fine and deport this wanker. Clearly there is more in the lead up to this accident. As an Aussie, I'm embarrassed by this behaviour.3 points

This sums it up, "we all know the thai woman hit him, probably distracted play facebook whilst driving and the aussie reacted accordingly. She then quickly whipped her phone out in a pathetic attempt to save face. " - Bob3 points

I've met a number of single mothers, aunts, etc. that raise the children because the father was, at heart, just a deadbeat and left. I don't know any of them that have married again because it seems Thai men aren't keen on raising and spending for children that aren't theirs. I don't know any of them that actually get child support. My wife, who had two kids from her first marriage, told the court when getting divorced that "dad" didn't need to support the kids, and as a result should stay away. I saw the guy once, on my step-daughter's 8th birthday (she's 24 now) and he wasn't welcome then by her or any of us. Never saw him again. I've supported the kids and given them tremendous advantages and opportunities they'd never have otherwise.3 points

Almost every single Thai female I have known has been abused in one way or another, a good friend of mine who had four children with this Thai guy told me that one night he held her down and poured toilet cleaner down her throat, she was hospitalized and barely survived, it seems to me that a lot, I’m sure not all, but a lot of Thai males are taught to behave like animals to women from an early age. The other thing I’ve noticed is that a lot of women are left on their own once the guy realizes he’s responsible for their children and can’t cope.3 points

It's absolutely rife in Thailand I don't know many women that haven't been abused Just yesterday my stepson's best friend I'm reticent to divulge this But my stepson hit his GF last year She was a horrible person and he came to us and admitted it, we didn't just find out about it The thing is my wife almost justfied it. Saying that she said really bad stuff about me and my wife I told my wife "I don't give a f*ck" what some 22yr old girl, or anyone, has to say about me I was in Canada and he was in Bangkok I sent him a message telling him if I were in Thailand I would kick the shit out of him. I told him if it ever happens again, he's dead to me, I will never have a relationship with him again. And I ridiculed him like I've never ridiculed anyone in my life. I didn't let it slide either A few after when I saw him in person I sat him down and had at him again..... It's despicable3 points

I see they've pulled his visa, deeming him a "threat to social peace". Phuket's immigration police has detained him and he can seek a temporary release to defend himself, on this charge, but they've got an earlier one, as well, about obstructing an ambulance. Bye, bye, "David".3 points

Tell you something; there are far too many stupid, ill informed, conspiracy theory, separate posts about COVID vaccines and it is seriously putting me off spending time on this forum. Either consolidate all these idiot posts in one posting, so that sensible people can ignore them and their posters, or start to lose those of us who are intensely bored with opening up the forum, to find just a long list of Covid related posts, all writing about the same old sxxt and nothing much else of interest. We have seen other forums go to the wall because they were highjacked by a few irrational posters banging on about the same subject for months at a time, I would not like to see this one go the same way.3 points

Nah, he's not a dodo. It's an advertising post, and possibly a scam in itself. This poster has made ONE post, and this is it. Same as the poster before him, Mr. Crytpotalk. ONE post and that was it, and it's promoting a service. It's advertising designed to skirt the forums no advertising rules.3 points

I was scrolling my instagram when I saw an advert for this f^ke investment platform called bitblender.me that promised a great return on investment after 4 weeks and since I was close to retirement I thought it would be a great decision to take not knowing these are sc^mmers that have ruined the lives of so many innocent and unsuspecting people. I fell into depression after losing $ 61 k worth of Bitcoin because I did not know where to even start as I was actually close to retirement. It was my lawyer that noticed how I was keeping to myself and then decided to pay me a visit and when I finally told him what had happened he told me to be rest assured that the bitcoin I sent were recoverable. That is when he told me of Refund Policy a team of professional hackers that does his law firm’s cyber security. At first I was hesitant to contact Refund Policy but I am glad I later did because it was like magic how they helped me recover all the $ 61 k worth of bitcoin I had sent to the sc^mmers. I thank my lawyer for telling me of Refund Policy and I will forever be grateful because if not for them I might have just taken my own life and that’s why i am going to put their contact details here incase anyone needs their services, they can help you recover whatever it is you lose to sc^mmers. Their E - mail: refundpolicy 82 at gmail.com and their WhatsApp number is + 1 (229) 231 1959. Do not hesitate to get in touch with them if you ever need their services. They can also help you investigate a cheating partner.3 points

When are the dream merchants going to wake up? A lot of money has changed hands that should not have even been proffered. So the rich little kid runs away and hides - in Dubai - and the world can't find him. I say bullcrap to that! Both Thailand and the UAE are members of Interpol. Where are the red notices calling for the capture and extradition of this killer?3 points

IMO, Thai cops are trigger happy and quick to pull their guns. These 2 may have been in fear of their lives and the recorded actions look more like they were in over their heads and were keeping the cop from shooting them. No argument that they were in the wrong for speeding and alleged attempted bribery. For that alone they should be sanctioned, but keep in mind Thai cop behavior. There is always a shoot out at the Ok Corral somewhere in Thailand because this place has more guns than much of the western world (excluding the USA) and it has gun violence to show for that.2 points

Last time I physically did a 90 Report at that office, some time ago, I only produced my passport , they printed out my new report, stuck it in the passport and that was it. The online system didn't work for me this time, so I duly pitched up at the IO to be faced with a need for 4 photocopies and a completed, paper TM47. Five times the paperwork for the same report. So why have immigration regressed to a stupid bureaucratic degree? I imagine that the photocopies just ended up in a wastepaper bucket. The only possible explanation I can think of is that the paperwork relives the computer keypad operator of having to open the passport to read the information within, although that information is available in one place, the previous TM47 receipt in the back of the passport. It just makes me question why I try to recycle anything here.2 points

"Now the West London professional manages to save an average of £500 (23,000 baht) per month" Professional what? Surprise surprise she has found out it is cheaper in Thailand than London (one of the most expensive cities in the world) and she has found out that if she doesn't spend all her money she can save some. Most people work that out before they have even left school.2 points

So, BoT is happy to allow the set up of virtual banks, claiming they will help the underserved, without any supporting data or knowing if those (undereducated) underserved have the technological savvy to use a virtual bank, all the while undercutting the business operations of the current commercial banks with physical locations? Who was the economic genius that came up with this idea?2 points

Southern Thailand has become a magnet for international crime syndicates on the back of its lackadaisical approach to law enforcement. Criminal elements from Australia, in form of Motorcycle gangs have set up their operations in places like Pattaya and Phuket, because they know they won’t attract same scrutiny from their activities as they would back home. It’s not confined to Australian expats either. The migration of such organisations has become all the more urgent, with amendments to criminal statutes, on laws of association. You reap what you sew.2 points

No as it harms the banks reputation without first establishing the facts. By all means crucify the bank on social media if it is proven to be at fault but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. For all we know it could be her or a close associate scamming the bank.2 points

Lots of fluff in the story. Was the person sitting on the staircase drunk or engaged in amorous activities with her companion? It is nice that the person is a "doctor", but that doesn't mean the person can't misbehave. Has the homeowner been bothered by trespassers in the past? The trespass law will not be applied if a person is lost or has made a genuine error. I do see the sign that says no entry, so someone obviously screwed up. If the obese Swiss man attacked her without cause, I would expect he has some things going on and a good place to start looking is his "elephant sanctuary". Some of these charities are covers for sketchy activity. As soon as I saw mention of a connection to the police, the red flag went up.2 points

Just gotta read the terms and conditions most travel insurance policies do not cover riding motorcycles. It is her own stupid fault for not checking. I would guess anyway that she does not have a full motorcycle in her home country which would have meant she was riding illegally in Thailand anyway and therefore would not have been cover by her insurance.2 points
