German woman injured after falling at Koh Samui waterfall
A tourist from Germany sustained injuries while visiting Koh Samui, one of Thailand‘s beautiful tropical destinations. The incident occurred when a German woman fell at a waterfall on Koh Samui, Na Mueang 2 Waterfall, and it took rescue teams and officials over 20 minutes to reach her location on foot.
The team found the woman, 38 year old Sina Dahmann, with an injured ankle. The woman, who was with her husband, told the rescuers that she slipped when stepping on a rock, and was unable to continue walking.
The rescuers provided Dahmann with first aid. They then carried Dahmann over the steep, rocky path on a stretcher before transporting her to the hospital.
The German couple expressed their gratitude for the quick response and help from officers and rescuers.
This news comes after another German woman was injured in Thailand last month.
The 61 year old woman was injured while walking inside the cave at Ka Narb Nam Mountain in Krabi’s main city district. The rescue mission was arduous due to the cave’s location. A rescue team had to get to the cave area with long-tail boats, before climbing 10 metres up a ladder to the cave. The rescuers then put the woman on a stretcher and moved her down from the cave and onto a long-tail boat to take her to a hospital.
On January 10, a young German tourist was injured after falling from the top of the stairs at Krabi’s Tiger Cave Temple. Rescue workers climbed over 1,000 steps, which took more than one hour, to reach the 19 year old man.
The man was lying on the staircase, unable to move, bleeding from the head, and suffering from neck pain. Luckily, a group of female tourists on the staircase, who were nurses, were able to help the injured tourist while waiting for rescue workers by stopping the flow of blood from his head.
