Indian tourist dies after being pulled out of the surf at Kata Beach

An Indian male tourist has been pronounced dead after being hauled out from the Kata Beach surf yesterday (August 24).

Karon Police were notified at 5pm that three tourists had been recovered from the surf in a red flag zone area. They were taken to hospital.

Karon Police reported that the tourists taken the Chalong Hospital include 41 year old male Jaskiratsingh Bhullr and 32 year old male Mani Arora.

Mr Bhulla was still conscious while Mr Arora remained in coma as of early last night. The men are related.

Another tourist who was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital is 48 year old Chinese man, Li Gui, who is conscious and recovering.

At 7.30pm Karon Police were notified by Chalong Hospital medical staff that Mr Arora had not regained consciousness and had been pronounced dead.
