Well surrenders murder secret

THALANG: Mystery surrounds the death of a tattooed man whose body was found in a well on Friday. He was probably murdered in an argument and dumped there, police say. Rubber-cutters discovered the body in a disused well about 200 meters from workers’ cottages in Baan Maa Nik after noting a bad smell. A rescue team lassoed the body, which was three meters down, and brought it to the surface. Pol Maj Adul Nirapai of Thalang Police Station said, “He was about 35-40 years old, wearing a brown shirt, with blue pants. There was evidence that he was hit on the head with a hard object many times, because his skull was broken.” On his shoulders were red tattoos in Burmese that translate as “Brave Man”. There were no documents or other items to help identify him. “I think he was an illegal immigrant into Thailand and might have had an argument with colleagues,” Maj Adul said. The man had been dead for at least three days.
