Voice of America Reaches Phuket

PHUKET TOWN: 207 Studio, which operates local radio station 89 FM, has announced the signing of an agreement with the United States Information Agency to rebroadcast programs supplied by The Voice of America (VOA). The station will feature the English language programming nightly between 7:30 p.m. and 2 a.m., beginning this Thursday. Veteran radio show host Don Sullivan has been hired by the station to handle the nightly shift. He has most recently been an on-air personality at “Smooth” 105 FM in Bangkok. Jim Davison, a broadcaster at Bangkok’s 98.5 FM, the sister station of 89 FM, initiated discussions with VOA earlier this year to “enhance the reputation of 89 FM and bring in a new era of broadcasting entertainment to Phuket,” 207 Studio said in a press release.
