Trade Center To Encourage Business

PHUKET: The Ministry of Industry is to set up a trade center in the vacant Offshore Mining Organisation building in Phuket Town. The purpose of the center is to facilitate marketing of locally produced goods to foreign buyers. “We plan to organize a trade center displaying industrial and consumer goods, and handicrafts,” said Adisorn Naphavaranonth, Chief of the Phuket Provincial Industrial Office. “Many of the tourists who come to Phuket are also business people looking for trading opportunities. At the trade center they will be able to see goods produced in Phuket under one roof. We believe this will encourage business,” Mr Adisorn said. The Offshore Mining Organisation building, located on Montri Road opposite the Seng Ho bookstore, has been vacant since 1996.
