Torso found on Kamala Beach

KAMALA: The torso of an unidentified man was found on the beach in front of the Muslim cemetery in Kamala this morning. Pol Capt Boonlert Onklang of Kathu Police station said police were summoned by a villager who owns a restaurant in the area, and who found the torso. “The body was completely rotten and the arms, legs, and head were missing,” said Capt Boonlert. Because of the severely decomposed state of the body, police were unable to identify whether it was that of a Thai or a foreigner, nor could they estimate the age of the dead man. “He probably died more than two weeks ago because every limb was missing. I think the body floated in from somewhere else. It’s unlikely to be anyone from this area,” Capt Boonlert added. However, he said, anyone who believes that the man may have been a relative or friend should contact Kathu Police Station at 342719.
