Police hunt food vendor’s killer

PHUKET TOWN: Police believe a love triangle led to the murder of a fried sausage vendor who was found stabbed to death beside his cart on Tuesday morning. Nearby residents discovered the body of Sritanonchai Kornsopa, 30, about 8 am at Kuan Din Dang-Samkong Rd in Moo 6, Rassada. Investigating officers later determined he had been dead for about six hours. Pol Maj Peerapan Meemak, of Phuket Town Police Station, said the dead man, originally from Nakhon Phanom, had lived in a house on Soi Bangyai, behind Phuket International Hospital. No weapon was found but police believe they know the identity of the killer. The dead man’s wife told them he left for work as usual early on Monday morning. He often went to meet a woman who worked in a karaoke bar, but lately had been arguing with the woman’s boyfriend, who is now the main suspect.
