Phuket police commemorate Royal Thai Police National Day
PHUKET: Phuket Police officers marked ‘Royal Thai Police National Day’ today.
Hundreds of Phuket police officers joined the event, which is part of nationwide celebrations to honor the force. The ceremony was held at the Phuket Provincial Police Headquarters in Phuket Town.
The celebrations started with a Buddhist blessing before the official ceremony, led by Phuket Provincial Police Commander Teeraphol Thipjaroen, who was joined by Phuket Governor Chokchai Dejamorthan.
Gen Teeraphol and Governor Chokchai presented awards to officers for their good work, as well as people from private organizations for supporting the police.
Gen Teeraphol read a statement from National Police Commissioner Chakthip Chaijinda to the officers.
“The Police National Day is a day of honor for all police officers. Police must be always ready to perform their duty at all times,” he read.
“Thank you to all our brothers in the police who have been performing their duties to the best of their abilities, as well as dedicating themselves to the people by putting their own lives at risk. Sometimes they even trade their lives for the happiness and safety of others.”
Gen Teeraphol thanked all police officers for following government and Royal Thai Police policies.
“We have been successful in cracking down on crime and I am proud of you all for helping us get there. We will continue to work tirelessly to eliminate crime on the island, from land, water or air,” Gen Teeraphol said.
“I would also like to thank all traffic police officers who work in the rain and every officer who helps our organization to achieve our mission. I need you all to stick with your vows and not unnecessarily risk your lives. Remember what your job is at all times. I wish you all the best.”
Gov Chokchai also thanked police officers for their work in supporting the government and for protecting and serving the people of Phuket.
“I am impressed with the good work officers have done for the island,” Gov Chokchai said. “As I’m new here, we will need to get to know each other better and discuss the necessary points forward for the island.”
