Man found shot dead in palm plantation

THALANG: The battered body of a man was found by villagers in a palm plantation in Thalang on Friday. Pol Maj Pornthep Phutluecha of Thalang Police Station said that the man, estimated to have been 30 to 40 years old, was wearing navy blue trousers and a T-shirt. His arms were raised over his head and handcuffed together. He had been gagged with duct tape, and a pair of red men’s underpants had been pulled over his head. No one in the area was able to identify the man. Police believe the corpse had been moved to the area from another location, and that at least two people were involved in moving it. Marks on the ground indicated that it had been dragged from the main road into the plantation. Examination of the body showed that the man had been shot in the back three times. He also suffered a cracked skull after being hit on the head with a blunt instrument. Police believe that the killers placed the red underwear over the victim’s head as a way of preventing his ghost from coming back to haunt them.
