Lucky boss gets money and pistol back
PHUKET TOWN: Construction boss Prayoon Janpetch is careful when he goes about collecting money from clients. Apart from anything else, he carries a pistol in case someone tries to rob him. But last week K. Prayoon, manager of the Saowaree Civil Engineering Partnership on Thepkrasatree Rd, Thalang, was less careful than usual. He left a bag containing 300,000 baht in checks – and his loaded pistol – on the roof of his car and drove off. The bag fell off the car as he drove out of the Phuket Villa complex in Sam Kong. That’s where K. Prayoon got lucky. The bag was found by Supitchaya Muangming, 22, a fourth-year student from Rajabhat Phuket Institute, who promptly turned it in to Phuket Town Police Station. Pol Maj Songwut Khunjan said, “He [K. Prayoon] told me he didn’t even realize the bag was gone until we contacted him.”
