B20m revamp for FantaSea
KAMALA: Phuket FantaSea is to spend up to 20 million baht on renovations, new technology and changes to the show as part of a plan to boost the number of visitors this year. Pin Kewpaisal, President of Phuket FantaSea, said on Monday, “We need to do this to ensure that tourists who have seen our show already can come back again without being bored.” The Bali bombing in October reduced the number of tourists from Europe but large numbers – 65% of the total – continue to come from Taiwan, Singapore, Japan and Malaysia, he said. New markets will be targeted in India, Britain and Russia, K. Pin said. FantaSea road shows have already made 60 trips to 35 countries in four years.
