The Thai News Agency reports that fire fighters from the Royal Forest Department, who were fighting at the firefront on Doi Prabat in Lampang found the pregnant wild turtle which was doing its best to escape from the blaze.

The turtle was rescued to a safe area where it can now lay its eggs. Officials say there are many wild animals in the forest which are affected by the fire.
