Krabi millipede invasion

Thousands of millipedes have invaded more than 30 houses in a Krabi community. Some locals are fearful of the plague as they say they’re allergic to millipedes. Locals in Klongtom, Krabi say that thousands of millipedes are being found around and inside their houses. The more rains, the more millipedes.

Locals are trying to get rid of them with chemical powders but the millipedes are still hanging around . Some of the residents are allergic to millipedes and vegetables and foodstuffs are also being damaged by the millipades.

45 year old Nitiya Sinpoe says, “These millipedes are getting bigger and bigger. We want relevant offices to help us get rid of them. They also smell very bad.

Klongtom District Chief Paisarn Srithap says, “These millipedes come from a private area nearby which has lot of saw dust and dead grass. We are contacting the land owner before we set fire the original home of the millipedes and put some chemical around the area to prevent their return.”
