American tourist dies after being found floating face down at Krabi beach
A 46 year old American tourist has died after falling unconscious while in the water at a beach in Ao Nang yesterday.
The Ao Nang Police were notified about the incident at the beach between Koh Kai (Chicken Island) and Koh Yawasam by the Krabi Tourist Assistance Centre (TAC).
The male tourist was identified as a 46 year old American national who was born in Vietnam. He was rushed to Krabi Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The man was traveling with a tour group of 12 people but no relatives were on the trip with him. He went swimming and was wearing a buoyancy vest at the time.
Other tourists saw the man floating face down in the water. Other swimmers headed out and found that the man was unconscious, and called for help.
