Jawan’s box office collection soars, set to break Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan record
Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan dominates box office, set to surpass Pathaan's record

The film “Jawan,” featuring Shah Rukh Khan, continues to retain its stronghold at the box office as it ventures into the second week. Under the leadership of director Atlee, the movie is setting unprecedented domestic and international records. On its eighth day, Sacnilk, an industry tracking service, reports that the movie amassed an astounding Rs 19 crore nett via various language screenings across India.
In light of its commendable success, “Jawan” has accrued total Indian nett earnings of Rs 345 crore, pushing its gross total to Rs 386 crore. It has been breaking records since premiering last Thursday, raking in Rs 75 crore on the opening day – the highest single-day earning and the most massive opening in Hindi cinema history. The movie raised the bar higher by collecting Rs 80 crore on Sunday.
“Jawan” has also surpassed the opening day and the opening week records of “Pathaan,” another Shah Rukh Khan movie released earlier this year. Though “Pathaan” is the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time in India, earning an impressive Rs 543 crore nett, “Jawan” is likely to break that record.
In terms of global achievement, “Jawan” has marked its territory by crossing the Rs 660 crore mark in just seven days, says Red Chillies Entertainment. Its worldwide collection roughly amounts to US$80 million. The movie is likely to hit the US$100 million mark at the global box office by Saturday, making it Shah Rukh Khan’s second film this year to achieve this milestone – “Pathaan,” having collected US$130 million, was the first.
According to Box Office Worldwide, “Jawan” aimed to collect a gross of Rs 700 crore in its extended eight-day opening week. Current numbers suggest that the film is on track to not just meet, but possibly beat this target. All thanks to Shah Rukh Khan’s irresistible star power and Atlee’s sterling directing skills. As “Jawan” continues garnering more audience, everyone’s eyes stay glued to the box office to witness what other records it can establish next.
