Tis’ the season for a rare orchid species to bloom in northern Thailand. The orchid species habenaria janellehayneiana is in full bloom at the Man Daeng Waterfall in the Hin Rong Kla National Park. The park is located in Thailand’s northern province of Phitsanulok.

The flowers grow on the rocks around the waterfall, creating a colorful scenery. The unique orchid species is in full bloom in August every year, although there will be few of them later into the month, according to Phitsanulok’s Protected Area Regional Office 11.

Entry fees may vary based on Thai and foreign citizenship, as well as age. Anyone interested in seeing the vibrant blossoms can contact the Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park’s visitor centre via 081-5965977 for more information on entrance fees, scheduling, and other information.

The park’s office warns that the rocks at the waterfall are slippery. It advises tourists to bring their own meals, water, raincoats, sneakers, and anti-leech socks.

The orchid is Thailand’s national flower. The kingdom is home to 1,500 different orchids. They grow wild in Thailand’s jungles and forests, but you may even see them growing on the side of the road.

In addition, the country is the number one orchid exporter in the world. The kingdom exports around 45% of its orchid out of the country, while the rest are being sold to locals on the domestic market.
